Your custom night guard represents and investment in protecting your mouth from damage caused by grinding your teeth. The night guard encourages regular use because it is custom fitted to your particular bite pattern. With basic care and maintenance it can last for a long time to come.

Be sure to rinse the night guard each morning with cold water to remove any bacteria or plaque that developed overnight. A wet night guard can harbor and encourage bacterial growth. So be sure to thoroughly dry the mouth guard with a paper towel before storing it in the case.

Gently brush the night guard with a soft bristled toothbrush and nonabrasive toothpaste once a week. This will help remove residual bacteria and refresh the night guard. Washing the case with warm soapy water once a week will help to kill any bacteria that might transfer from the night guard.

A little wear and tear is to be expected and night guards do need to be replaced occasionally.
